With the start of this blog many moons ago, the idea behind it was to preserve my recipes to pass on to my children. My children are in the toddler stage and I dreamed up this idea when my daughter was born. Ideally I want to make a cookbook similarly like the one you buy at the book store. But then I came across a website where you can make a cookbook like the ones for church fundraisers that have the plastic comb binding. Due to time constraints, entering in all the information was too daunting with two toddlers running amuck, so I just kept snapping pictures of something delicious, and here I am. In the now and present, posting my recipes, sharing a little bit of myself.
This cookbook is in the back of my mind and will not leave. The seed was planted and I am one of those people who will not give up until it comes to fruition. I come across this neat video today. I was searching for the machines that put the plastic combs into the kind of book I am wanting to create. In this video, you do not even need the machine, just a few tools to create a cookbook for generations.
I will be viewing many of sea lemons videos as she will make this idea in my craw become a reality. Because I have uploaded so many recipes to wordpress it should be pretty easy to just print and having a page dedicated to a whole recipe. I will probably end up making several books. The one for desserts and sweets being the largest as I am have been doing those so long, that list is large. I will have to get creative for the cover. The cereal box is a neat idea, but not the right subject matter. Perhaps I will take a picture of food I have and get it printed at kinkos and then affix it to the cover. I am pretty excited that I can print my own book and skip the publishing company, or who knows submit my spiral cookbooks to them. I am off to gather my tooling for this. I hope to have an eggnog pie recipe uploaded soon for more holiday baking pleasure.
