Greetings! Years ago I came across a recipe that has become a classic at our house. May it become a classic for you. This Biscuit recipe tastes very similar to the biscuits you get at Red Lobster before your meal arrives. The taste, texture, and overall dining experience with these jewels adds an extra step in your get-a-long.
There are actually two recipes for this one. Don’t be discouraged as one is very universal and you can make many things from the one batch. So lets get started by mixing up a simple batch of homemade bisquick.
Homemade Bisquick Recipe:
- 2 C. Flour (all purpose)
- 1/2 C. Non-Fat Dry Milk Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 3/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 C. Shortening
Using a shifter, shift all dry ingredients together in a medium sized bowl. Add shortening, incorporate using a pastry blender or fork until it homogenized and resembles wet clumping sand. Set aside and refrigerate until needed. Store in a air tight container. I use a ziplock back with the date of making written on it. Not sure how long this will store as mine never last longer than a month
Now onto business, Red Lobster Style Biscuits:
- 1 Batch Homemade Bisquick Mix from above
- 3 Oz. freshly grated cheddar cheese
- 3/4 C. cold water
Garlic spread
- 1 stick melted butter
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/8 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/8 Teaspoon Parsley Flakes
To cold water, add Bisquick and cheese, blending in a mixing bowl until dough is firm. Using a small scoop (I use a measuring 1/3 C measure), place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375 degrees (preheat oven) for 10 t0 12 minutes or until tops are golden brown. While biscuits bake, combine spread ingredients. Brush baked biscuits with the garlic topping.
Serve and Enjoy!
Those look so,good I can practically taste them!
